SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 1169 appropriates $100.0 to the Valencia County Sheriffs Department for operational
expenses.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA reports that the Valencia County Sheriffs Department will use the funds to purchase laptops
for their Deputies' patrol units, to upgrade computers, and provide training on the new
equipment. The funding is to assist Deputies in receiving information more efficiently and to
respond more effectively to emergency calls.
