SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 35 carries no appropriation. House Joint Memorial calls for a Legislative
proclamation that the entire month of November be hereby known as a “Salute to Veterans"
month. Enactment of the memorial would require dissemination of the memorial to all State
agencies, the executive, and statewide offices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
*No fiscal impact.
Enactment of House Joint Memorial 35 would incur insignificant costs associated with postage
for the legislation’s necessary transmittal.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
In addressing the long history and association of New Mexico’s citizens with the U.S. military
branches, multiple campaigns, and overall military legacy, House Join Memorial proclaims the
entire month of November as “Salute to Veteran’s Month."
