SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 42 requests that the Attorney General conduct an investigation into the
disparity between the absolute prices in gasoline and diesel fuel and report the findings of the
investigation to the New Mexico Legislature,
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Joint Memorial cites concern over the growing and continued disparity between the price of
gasoline and diesel fuels. Gasoline prices appear to be falling at a faster rate than diesel fuel. The
Joint Memorial indicates a two percent decrease in the price of diesel fuel in the past year as
compared to an average 12 percent decrease in the price of gasoline.
