Senate Memorial 46 supports the American Postal Workers Union of New Mexico's endeavor to
improve mail delivery and service throughout the state of New Mexico and hereby proclaim
March 5, 2007 through March 11, 2007 to be "Postal Customer Service Awareness Week" in the
House of Representatives.
A copy of this memorial will be transmitted to the members of the New Mexico congressional
delegation and to the American Postal Workers Union of New Mexico.

The American postal workers union of New Mexico recognizes the importance of postal services
to the cities and small towns in the state of New Mexico.
The standards of mail delivery and service have dramatically deteriorated in New Mexico over
the past five years, resulting in long waiting lines at retail windows, late night delivery, no
delivery or delayed mail delivery.
By drawing attention to the importance of customer service at the United States postal service as
well as in the public domain, the American postal workers union of New Mexico hopes to
improve the quality of mail service and delivery in the state; and
The remarkable awareness created thus far is a direct result of the American postal workers
union of New Mexico's advocacy and dedication to the citizenry of New Mexico.
