SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Per NMHU Finance and Administration, the funds would be to provide professional
development through the Priorities Schools Bureau of the New Mexico Public Education
Department (PED). The professional development activities are designated for the lowest
performing public school districts in the state.
According to HED, the 2007 NMHU Legislative Priorities publication identifies the primary
mission of CESDP to assist communities in improving the quality of education for all citizens.
CESDP promotes community involvement in education, ensures support for the New Mexico
PED, and provides direct technical assistance, publications, products, research-based tools and
models to students, parents, and educational organizations.
