Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the
General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
This one time funding request will provide the infrastructural improvements needed to expand
matches of at-risk youth to adult mentors in unserved and underserved areas of the state. The
funding will expand programming into each quadrant of the state. In 2006, 3100 at-risk youth
were matched with volunteer adult mentors. With the program expansion it is projected that this
number will increase to matching at least 5,100 at-risk youth with volunteer adult mentors.
