SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 379 appropriates $50 thousand from the general fund to the Economic Development
Department (EDD) to promote film and media enterprises in New Mexico, including film and
exhibitions and festivals.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $50 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year shall revert
to the general fund.

SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The appropriation in this bill seems to support the NM Film Office’s efforts to promote
filmmaking in New Mexico. The NMFO, with an FY07 operating budget of about $1.1 million
and 12 FTE, promotes New Mexico to filmmakers and provides services to production
companies filming in the state.
NMFO reports no performance or administrative implications from this appropriation.
