SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA reports that SB 714 appropriates $80,000 for ambulance services expenditures in Pecos in
San Miguel County in fiscal year 2008. The $80,000 will be spent on the following:
Radios: 15 @ $500 each: $7,500
Recruiting and Training: 10 EMTs @ $400 per person: 4,000
New gurney on 1997 ambulance: 10,000
Startup costs on new Pecos Valley EMS Bldg: 15,000
Tires and upkeep on 1997 ambulance: 1,000
Fiscal year 2006 deficit on ambulance service: 56,000
Total $92,500
DFA suggests that SB 714 may not appropriate sufficient funds to provide the replacement
equipment and training and to cover the deficit of the ambulance service from FY06. A total of
$92.5 is required.
AMENDMENTS
DFA suggests an increase in appropriation amount or an additional $15.0 in FY08 for ambulance
services in Pecos in San Miguel County for a total appropriation of $95.0 from the General Fund
to the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and Administration.
