SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 740 would remove the requirement that technicians who service and perform repairs
on gaming devices be certified as a technician by a Gaming Control Board licensed manufacturer
of gaming devices.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
LFC staff note that an independent body regulating those who repair gaming devices provides
greater accountability to the public. A regulatory entity adds integrity to the gaming industry.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
This bill would require the Gaming Control Board to develop and implement an approval process
for gaming device technicians.
