SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 917 appropriates $85.0 from the General Fund to the Department of Finance and
Administration for Village of Cuba Police Department for operating expenses, including crime
scene management and tactical training.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $85.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the General Fund. Any
unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY08 shall revert to the General
Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA reports that the Village of Cuba Police Department has five officers and a flat budget. The
Department is in need of uniforms, bullet proof vests, AR-15 rifles and various other equipment.
Their current equipment is out dated and expired. The money will be also used to give the
officers advance training on DWI stops and drug busts which will help with the Villages DWI
and drug concerns.
