Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 933 amends the Motor Vehicle Code to make it unlawful for a salvage auction to sell
or otherwise convey ownership of salvage vehicle to a person that is not a licensed dealer or auto
recycler.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Laws 2005, Chapter 324, substantially amended statute on auto recycling and salvage. The bill
follows to further restrict the purchase at auction of salvage vehicles to licensed dealers or auto
recyclers.
TECHNICAL ISSUES
There is no definition of “salvage auction" in this section or in the Motor Vehicle Code.
