Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 56 requests that the Senate honor Pete Campos by naming the new student
center at New Mexico Highlands University the “Pete Campos Student Center".
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Senate Memorial 56 states that Dr. Pete Campos has represented district eight in the New
Mexico Senate for sixteen years and Dr. Campos has chosen to live his life in and serve the
people of Northeastern New Mexico. Dr. Campos has a diverse background in academics,
business, community service and other disciplines and uses his knowledge and experience to
assist others.
Dr. Campos has devoted his career to helping others unselfishly and encouraging New Mexicans
to achieve their goals and aspirations and he serves as a positive role model as a businessman,
educator and community leader. Dr. Campos inspires others by never giving up and always
giving life his best effort. He considers education a high priority and encourages others to pursue
higher education and become lifelong learners. Dr. Campos is happily married to Lori Anne Ludi
Campos and is the proud father of Peter Campos.
