AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A STUDENT OUTCOMES DATABASE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the higher education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to develop a database to provide information to public schools on the outcomes of their students in their first year of college at a New Mexico public post-secondary educational institution so that the high schools may use that information to improve instruction, student preparation and advisement. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
