SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 135, Making an Appropriation for a Teen Technology and Recreational Center on the
West Side of Espanola, appropriates $125 thousand from the general fund to the Department of
Finance and Administration for the purpose of contracting for technical assistance and
instructional and programming support for a teen technology and recreational center.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $125 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA notes that the community of Espanola will benefit from technical instructions to the youth
with an emphasis on providing training for future employment opportunities. DFA will serve as
the flow thru agency. The City will be responsible for administering the money and for
complying with the procurement code.
