SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 176, making an Appropriation for a Community Action Agency in Dona Ana County,
appropriates $100 thousand from the general fund to DFA for the purpose of contracting between
Dona Ana County and a community action agency to provide training in the textile arts to low-
income families and conduct a micro enterprise program.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $100 thousand contained in this bill is a non-recurring expense to the
general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall
revert to the general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
HB 176 proposes to fund $100 thousand to a community action agency through Dona Ana
County for training in the textile arts and conduct a micro enterprise development program. The
Community Action Agency in Dona Ana County, located in Las Cruces is a non-profit
