SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 355 appropriates $50,000 from the general fund to ALTSD to fund a pilot program
extending hours for adult day care in San Miguel County to full work day. Any unexpended
balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2009 shall revert to the general fund.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation contained in HB 355 is not contained in the ALTSD FY09 budget request.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
The Senior Center in San Miguel County is open from 8-5, but does not offer licensed day care
at this time.
AMENDMENT
Given that adult daycare is not currently offered, ALTSD suggest on lines 18-19, striking “a pilot
program extending hours for adult daycare in San Miguel county to a full work day" and replace
with “adult daycare services or in-home support activities in San Miguel County."
