SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 363 appropriates $2.3 million from the general fund to Public Education Department
for providing an additional 2 percent salary increase for educational assistants.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $2.3 million contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
In FY07 educational assistants received an additional 4.5 percent salary increase and above over
the 5 percent salary increase provided for all educational employees.
Sufficient funding to provide educational assistants an additional 1 percent salary increase for
FY09 is included in the General appropriations Act.
