Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 376 requests an appropriation of seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) from the
General Fund to the Local Government Division of the Department of Finance and
Administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2009 to supplement access to recovery funds for
substance-abuse clients who seek treatment in Santa Fe County and receive vouchers to pay for
substance-abuse services.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) contained in this bill is a
recurring expense to the General Fund.
Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of Fiscal Year 2009 shall revert
to the General Fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
This House Bill continues the support for substance abuse programs in Santa Fe County.
This important funding provides access for substance abusers to receive necessary help for this
medical, social, and economic problem.
