SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Bill 416, Making an Appropriation for Youth Summer Enrichment and Life Skills
Programming in Rio Arriba County, appropriates $20.0 thousand from the general fund to DFA
for youth summer programs in Rio Arriba County
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
The appropriation of $20.0 thousand contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general
fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY09 shall revert to the
general fund.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
DFA notes that HB 416 would allow the County to provide valuable programs for the County’s
youth without dipping into County coffers.
DFA.will enter into a grant agreement with Rio Arriba County and ensure that all expenditures
are in compliance with the state procurement code. Rio Arriba County may issue a request for
proposal to any organization that has interest in administering youth summer enrichment and life
skills programs.
