SUMMARY
Synopsis of Joint Memorial
House Joint Memorial urges the NM congressional delegation to champion federal health care
obligations for veterans’, including introducing legislation into the U.S. House of
Representatives, and the U.S. Senate to propose full-funding for veterans’ health care services.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Joint Memorial 25 carries no fiscal impact.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Current federal funding of these programs allocates discretionary funds in lieu of mandatory
funding of incurred program costs. Current funding does not fully fund the ever increasing
demand for health care services that local VA medical centers are experiencing.
