SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Bill 319 requests the abolition of the County Surveyor as an elected position. This Senate
Bill cited certain definitions of offices, requirements for abolition of elected offices, ballot
requirements, and elected office restoration provisions.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
Counties can incur a salary saving, if a County Surveyor is not hired.
SIGNIFICANT ISSUES
Section 19 of this Senate Bill refers to the ‘EFFECTIVE DATE.’--The effective date of the
provisions of this act is July 1, 2008.
