AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM THAT USES COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY TO COORDINATE AND PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS TO MAKE ADEQUATE YEARLY PROGRESS IN TAOS COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred twenty-eight thousand dollars ($128,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the town of Taos, through collaborative partnerships, to coordinate and provide after-school programs that use academic support, integrated learning experiences and support services to assist students and schools in Taos county to improve academic performance in order to make adequate yearly progress as determined by the provisions of the federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, contingent upon receipt of five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) in matching funds from sources other than the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
