AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CORRECTIONS DEPARTMENT TO CREATE A RESTORATIVE JUSTICE DIALOGUE PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the corrections department for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to create and implement a dialogue program between victims and offenders that promotes restorative justice. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
