AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO IMPLEMENT AN ART AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM FOR NATIVE AMERICAN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Forty thousand dollars ($40,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the Indian affairs department for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to implement an interdisciplinary art and leadership program for Native American middle school and high school students that incorporates skill-building and problem-solving with techniques that develop creativity, leadership and self-esteem. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
