Mr. Speaker:

    Your BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 889

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 1, line 24, after "unit" insert "each acting in its capacity as a central purchasing office, in accordance with the provisions of Section 13-1-135 NMSA 1978".

     2. On page 1, line 24, strike "and".

     3. On page 2, line 3, strike the period and closing quotation mark and insert "; and".

     4. On page 2, between lines 3 and 4, insert the following new subsection:

          "C. for the state purchasing agent, one, simultaneous procurement jointly conducted by the state purchasing agent and one or more external procurement units or local public bodies, each acting in its capacity as a central purchasing office, in

accordance with the provisions of Section 13-1-135 NMSA 1978."".

     5. On page 3, line 15, after "body" insert "or the state purchasing agent".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
