Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 28
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 11, strike "REQUIRING" and insert in lieu thereof "CHANGING THE PROPORTION OF".
2. On page 3, line 11, strike "All" and insert in lieu thereof "Beginning with the fall semester of 2010, a minimum of one-half".
3. On page 3, line 13, before the period, insert ", and beginning with the fall semester of 2011, a minimum of two-thirds of the gratis scholarships established and granted by each board of regents each year shall be granted on the basis of financial need".
4. On page 8, line 7, strike "All" and insert in lieu thereof "Beginning with the fall semester of 2010, a minimum of one-half".
5. On page 8, line 10, before the period, insert ", and beginning with the fall semester of 2011, a minimum of two-thirds of the gratis scholarships established and granted by each board of regents each year shall be granted on the basis of financial need".
6. On page 10, line 7, strike "All" and insert in lieu thereof "Beginning with the fall semester of 2010, a minimum of one-half".
7. On page 10, line 9, before the period, insert ", and beginning with the fall semester of 2011, a minimum of two-thirds of the gratis scholarships established and granted by each board of regents each year shall be granted on the basis of financial need".,
and thence referred to the PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE.
