FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP HEALTH EXTENSION RURAL OFFICES TO SERVE NEW MEXICO COUNTIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million eight hundred thousand dollars ($1,800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to develop, in partnership with the New Mexico state university cooperative extension service, health extension rural offices to strengthen community capacity to more effectively address local health concerns and priorities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
