FOR THE COURTS, CORRECTIONS AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE SIXTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT COURT TO IMPLEMENT AND SUPPORT JUVENILE AND ADULT OFFENDER RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SERVICES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred seventy-six thousand dollars ($276,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the sixth judicial district court for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to provide juvenile and adult offender restorative justice services in the sixth judicial district, including mediation, community conferencing and justice circles, and to serve as a model for the effectiveness of restorative justice services in the courts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
