AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE DESIGN, CREATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A RURAL HEALTH TELEMEDICINE NETWORK THROUGHOUT NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of information technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 for the required matching funds for a federal communications commission allocation to New Mexico of eleven million three hundred thousand dollars ($11,300,000) to be administered in collaboration with the university of New Mexico center for telehealth and cybermedicine research to design, create and implement a rural health telemedicine network throughout New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
