AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ESTABLISH AN OFFICE OF COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($175,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to establish an office of community health workers to develop the infrastructure and training to provide community health worker services statewide. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
