AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO MOVE TOWARD RATE EQUITY BETWEEN GENERAL FUND PROGRAMS AND THE DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES MEDICAID WAIVER PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 to move toward rate equity between services funded through state general fund programs and the developmental disabilities medicaid waiver program to maintain quality services, improve staff recruitment and retention, provide employee health insurance and salary increases, comply with minimum wage laws and meet rising programmatic and operational costs of quality care. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall revert to the general fund.
