AN ACT

RELATING TO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT; TRANSFERRING PERSONNEL, PROPERTY, CONTRACTS AND REFERENCES IN LAW OF THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT; REPEALING THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT ACT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. TEMPORARY PROVISION--TRANSFERS.--

          A. On July 1, 2009, all functions, personnel, appropriations, money, buildings, files, records, furniture, equipment and other property of the workforce solutions department, including any divisions of the department, are transferred to the economic development department.

          B. On July 1, 2009, all contractual obligations of the workforce solutions department or the labor department, including any divisions of either department, are transferred to the economic development department.

          C. On July 1, 2009, all statutory references to the workforce solutions department or any divisions of the workforce solutions department or to the labor department or any divisions of the labor department shall be deemed to be references to the economic development department.

     Section 2. REPEAL.--Sections 9-26-1 through 9-26-15 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 2007, Chapter 200, Sections 1 through 14 and 23) are repealed effective July 1, 2009.
