AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR NON-NATIVE PHREATOPHYTE REMOVAL AND RIPARIAN RESTORATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three million dollars ($3,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2011 and subsequent fiscal years for non-native phreatophyte removal and riparian restoration projects conducted by soil and water conservation districts according to the New Mexico non-native phreatophyte/watershed management plan. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
