AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE TRAINING IN COMPUTATIONAL METHODS IN SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS TO MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TO PREPARE TEACHERS TO USE COMPUTATIONAL SCIENCE TECHNIQUES IN THEIR CLASSROOMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2011 for a statewide program to provide training in computational methods for middle school and high school students in science, mathematics, engineering and technology applications and to prepare teachers to use computational science techniques in science, mathematics, engineering and technology. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2011 shall revert to the general fund.
