AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR CONTRACTING FOR SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH AUTISM; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2010 and subsequent fiscal years to contract with a community-based organization in Dexter to increase social interactions for children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders and to provide training to staff and caregivers of participating children. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2010 shall not revert to the general fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
