    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred


SENATE BILL 127


has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:


    1. On page 1, line 15, insert the subsection designation "A." before "The".


    2. On page 1, line 17, strike the subsection designation "A." and insert in lieu thereof the paragraph designation "(1)".


    3. On page 1, line 24, strike the subsection designation "B." and insert in lieu thereof the paragraph designation "(2)".


    4. On page 2, between lines 1 and 2, insert the following new subsections:


         "B. The state auditor shall be limited to maintaining not more than five employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.


         C. The lieutenant governor shall be limited to maintaining not more than five employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.


         D. The secretary of state shall be limited to maintaining not more than five employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.


         E. The state treasurer shall be limited to maintaining not more than five employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.


         F. The public regulation commission shall be limited to maintaining not more than ten employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.


         G. The commissioner of public lands shall be limited to maintaining not more than nine employees exempt from the Personnel Act pursuant to Subsection B, C, D, K, L or N of Section 10-9-4 NMSA 1978, not including those employment positions created in statute.".,


and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
