SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR HOUSE BILL 298, as amended

    1. Strike Items 2 and 3 of House Floor Amendment number 2.

    2. On page 1, line 12, after the semicolon, strike the remainder of the line, strike line 13 in its entirety and strike line 14 through the semicolon.

    3. On page 13, strike lines 21 through 24 in their entirety and strike line 25 through "months".

    4. On page 14, line 21, after "send", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 22 through 25 in their entirety and on page 15, strike line 1 in its entirety and strike line 2 through the period and insert in lieu thereof:

", electronically or by first class mail, to any sex offender who elects to receive notification, a registration verification form containing the sex offender's current registration information and a notice that the sex offender is required to appear at the county sheriff's office.".

    5. On page 15, line 3, strike "within ten days of receipt" and insert in lieu thereof "on or before the date specified in the notice".

    6. On page 15, line 7, after the period, strike the remainder of the line and strike lines 8 through 12 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof:

    "Regardless of whether the sex offender receives notification, the sex offender shall appear at the county sheriff's office to verify registration information as required by this section.".

    7. On page 24, lines 18 and 19, strike "State and local" and insert in lieu thereof "Local".
