Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 359

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 4, line 14, strike the ending quotation mark and between lines 14 and 15, insert the following new subsection:

"G. As used in this section, "home-based educational program" means a home study program of instruction operated by the parent of a school-age person that provides a basic academic educational program, including reading, language arts, mathematics, social studies and science, and that is registered with the public education department as provided in Section 22-1-2.1 NMSA 1978."".

2. On page 6, line 22, strike the ending quotation mark and between lines 22 and 23, insert the following new subsection:

3. On page 8, line 16, strike the ending quotation mark and between lines 16 and 17, insert the following new subsection:

"E.
