AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR INQUIRY SCIENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS FROM KINDERGARTEN THROUGH GRADE EIGHT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of northern New Mexico college for expenditure in fiscal years 2013, 2014 and 2015 to fund inquiry science education programs in public schools from kindergarten through grade eight, including comprehensive inquiry-centered science instruction, professional development for teacher participation in inquiry science education programs and matching funds for ongoing inquiry science education programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2015 shall revert to the general fund.
