Your FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE BILL 20
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 14, after "FACILITIES", insert "AND PROSTHETIST ORTHOTIST SERVICES".
2. On page 3, between lines 19 and 20, insert the following new subsection:
"G. Receipts from payments by the United States government or any agency thereof for medical or other health services provided by a prosthetist orthotist to medicare beneficiaries pursuant to the provisions of Title 18 of the federal Social Security Act may be deducted from gross receipts according to the following schedule:
(1) from July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014, thirty-three and one-third percent of the receipts may be deducted;
(2) from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015, sixty-six and two-thirds percent of the receipts may be deducted; and
(3) after June 30, 2015, one hundred percent of the receipts may be deducted.".
3. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.
4. On page 6, between lines 10 and 11, insert the following new paragraph:
"(22) "prosthetist orthotist" means a health care professional who is specifically educated and trained to manage comprehensive orthotic or prosthetic patient care and is certified by the American board for certification in orthotics, prosthetics and pedorthics;".
5. Renumber succeeding paragraphs accordingly.
