AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A FULL-SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS INITIATIVE IN GADSDEN.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2013 to contract with a full-service community schools initiative in the Gadsden independent school district to coordinate, integrate and expand school-based and community health care, family engagement and family supports in middle schools in the Gadsden independent school district to remove non-academic barriers to learning. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
