AN ACT

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC PEACE, HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELFARE; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A GRAFFITI AND VANDALISM TASK FORCE IN DONA ANA COUNTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2013 to establish a task force in Dona Ana county that includes local and state law enforcement officials, business owners and community members to develop solutions on how to address, regulate and prevent graffiti and other forms of vandalism to local schools, neighborhoods, businesses, parks and government and other buildings. The task force shall report its recommendations to local governments, state and local law enforcement, business owners and other interested persons by November 1, 2012. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2013 shall revert to the general fund.
