Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION 26
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 1, line 12, strike the comma.
2. On page 1, line 13, strike "APPOINTMENT, PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS FOR" and insert in lieu thereof "OF".
3. On page 1, strike lines 22 through 25 in their entirety.
4. On page 2, strike lines 1 through 5 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof "term and qualifications of the chief public defender shall be as provided by law.".
5. On page 2, line 15, after the period, insert:
"Terms, qualifications and membership of the public defender commission shall be as provided by law."".
6. On page 2, line 16 through page 3, line 5, strike Subsection C in its entirety.
