Mr. Speaker:

    Your APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 623, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. Strike all house education committee amendments.

     2. On page 1, line 12, after "LICENSURE", insert "SALARIES".

     3. On pages 1 and 2, strike all underscored material.

     4. On page 3, between lines 4 and 5, insert the following new subsection: 

          "D. The minimum salary for a counselor who holds the highest ranked counselor license as provided in Chapter 22, Article 10A NMSA 1978 and rules promulgated by the department shall be the same as provided for level three-A teachers pursuant to Subsection C of this section.".

     5. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
