AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR THE OFFICE OF SCHOOL AND ADOLESCENT HEALTH FOR SIXTH THROUGH TWELFTH GRADE STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AVERAGE, BELOW AVERAGE OR FAILING SCHOOLS AS RANKED BY THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for the office of school and adolescent health for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 for quality behavioral health supports using standards and benchmarks for school-based behavioral health center services for students in sixth through twelfth grades in schools ranked "C", "D" and "F" according to the public education department ranking system to assist these students with academic learning. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
