SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to SENATE PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 65

Amendment sponsored by Senator

    1. On page 1, lines 18 and 19, after "department", strike "shall coordinate with" and insert in lieu thereof a comma.

    2. On page 1, line 20, strike "prison and delinquency facility".

    3. On page 1, line 21, after "administrators", insert "of any and all facilities that confine incarcerated individuals shall coordinate".

    4. On page 2, line 3, strike the period and "In no case" and insert in lieu thereof a semicolon.

    5. On page 2, strike lines 4 and 5 in their entirety.

    6. On page 3, strike lines 6 through 13 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following new subsections:

         "C. The human services department shall suspend, and shall not terminate, the enrollment of an incarcerated individual until a year from the date of the individual's entry into incarceration.

         D. Nothing in this section shall be construed to alter the time limits for processing medicaid applications pursuant to existing federal and state law.".

    7. Reletter the succeeding subsection accordingly.

    8. On page 4, between lines 20 and 21, insert the following new section:

    "SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is January 1, 2014.".
