AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY TO FUND OPERATIONS FOR CAREER TECHNICAL STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS STATEWIDE; DECLARING AN EMERCENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 2013 and 2014 to support the continuation of six career technical student organizations statewide that will provide career technical education programs for students statewide and technical and leadership skills and knowledge necessary for students to succeed in higher education, occupations and careers. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.

     SECTION 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
