AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO LIVESTOCK BOARD FOR HORSE RESCUE PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico livestock board for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to contract for services of a program that teaches incarcerated, honorably discharged veterans contemporary horsemanship skills and to care for and rehabilitate unwanted horses. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
