AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF DROUGHT IN THE LOWER PECOS RIVER BASIN.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to mitigate the effects of drought in the lower Pecos river basin and the Carlsbad irrigation district service area. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
