AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO FUND A "WE THE PEOPLE" CIVIC EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS IN NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to fund a statewide "We the People" civic education program for elementary, middle school and high school students and educators. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.
